So here we are. The football season that I waited so long for to start is almost over. Thanksgiving lead the way for Black Friday, and now Christmas is in the air. This is a great time of year, busy but excellent as it reminds us of what was and what can be. Susannah and I are very grateful for all the things Ballroom Blitz has brought to us. Most of all, we are thankful for all you people that have enriched our lives. You make Ballroom Blitz a cool place to be!

The new set of classes starts the first week of January. We are excited that Argentine Tango has made such a strong statement with our dancers. We have reserved Monday for the local nighthawks and Argentine Tango. The dancing starts at 9pm. This 6-week workshop starts January the 2nd and costs $50.

Tuesday, the 3rd of January, is the start date for our Lindy-Hop Workshop. This popular social dance is closely related to the East Coast Swing. Imagine a cross between a Ferris wheel and a spinning teacup ride. The fun starts at 7pm and costs $50 (6-week workshop).

Our Adult Basic Series is designed to teach and improve dancers of all levels. These 6-Week workshops cost $75 and start this January! Our AB101 introduces Beginners to the more popular social dances (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Swing, and Salsa). Our AB201 focuses on teaching upper level dancers new steps while instilling effective dance techniques. Our AB301workshop seasons and refines the skills of Silver Level dancers. Whatever your dance experience, there is a dance class for you.

AB201 $75 Thursday, January 5th at 7pm – Upper Level Dancers

AB301 $75 Saturday, January 7th at 5:30pm – Silver Level Dancers (permission required)

In addition to these classes, we are proud to bring back International Tango to the Blitz! Thursday’s at 8:30pm, this dramatically bold yet sophisticated dance style is one all hoofers should have in their terpsichorean arsenal.

But that is not all. What would a dance platter be without a healthy, heaping dose of spicy Salsa? It starts at 6:30 with Intro to Salsa for $5 and leads right up to the Upper Level Salsa Class at 7pm ($10). Unique to Ballroom Blitz is the $10 Latin Workout (Monday’s at 8pm and Thursday’s at 4pm). This hour-long dance session is choreographed with real dance steps (Merengue, Free-Style Hustle, Salsa, Cha-Cha-Cha, Triple Time Swing, Jive, Samba, and International Rumba) and not just movement. You’ll dance, you’ll sweat, and you’ll have fun.
